WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in the Washington DC area.

Your Impact

  • Serve in a Deputy Program Manager role on major rail and bridge transportation projects delivered via Progressive Design-Build/ Design-Build delivery methods
  • Support Program Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers and Architects for the preparation of final design documents for rail and bridge facilities
  • Support Construction Manager to lead a team of Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Office Administrators, Safety staff and Inspectors for the delivery of bridge/rail facilities and rail systems 
  • Support Program Manager with program management of all areas within the project team to include but not limited to Program Controls, Document Control, Design and Construction Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, Environmental Compliance, Stakeholder/ Third Party Management, Public Outreach and adjacent project coordination
  • Provide oversight of FRA reporting and program budget management
  • Responsible for independent review of project progress
  • Perform schedule review and analysis
  • Provide solutions to project issues
  • Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics
  • Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget
  • Support Program Manager  with development/maintenance of relationships with public and private sector clients, contractors, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.
  • Support Program Manager with leading staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.
  • Accountable for overall management and successful execution of assigned components of major projects within the transportation market, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability.
  • Promote an appropriate value proposition that accounts for corporate and WSP client business strategy, governmental regulations and policies, and QA/QC in delivery.  
  • Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.  
  • Support Program Manager with development/implementation of Project Management Plans and communication strategies to increase the effectiveness of processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating risks. 
  • Manage performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.
  • Develop business contacts and client base for providing program management/construction management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities.
  • Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering related) or equivalent 
  • 12  years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, with construction costs in excess of $250 million
  • Proficiency with transit and rail engineering/construction principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skill - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Degree (Program Management)
  • PMP Certification

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $205,000-250,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
