By Light Professional IT Services LLC readies warfighters and federal agencies with technology and systems engineered to connect, protect, and prepare individuals and teams for whatever comes next. Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers worldwide. Position Overview By Light is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy to support the Senior Vice President of Global Solutions Programs. This is a senior leadership position that demands equal parts strategic thinking, operational discipline, and executive presence. The Deputy will serve as a trusted extension of the SVP, managing critical programs, representing By Light with key Government and industry stakeholders, and driving initiatives forward across a complex, fast-paced federal IT environment. This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, operates with minimal oversight, and consistently delivers results across multiple competing priorities. Represent By Light's interests with DoD, IC, and Federal Civilian customers at all levels.
* Program Oversight: Monitor the health, performance, and execution of a portfolio of active federal IT contracts. Identify risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues with recommended courses of action.
* Business Development Support: Support capture and proposal activities, including customer engagement, competitive analysis, teaming strategy, and solution development. Assist in identifying and qualifying new opportunities aligned with By Light's growth strategy.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary coordination point across internal teams, subcontractors, and Government stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical, programmatic, and financial objectives.
* Strategic Initiatives: Lead or support special projects at the direction of the SVP, including market assessments, white papers, briefing preparation, and executive communications.
* Internal Leadership: Partner with Division Leads, Program Managers, Capture Leads, Contracts, Finance, and HR to drive operational efficiency and ensure program delivery excellence across the portfolio.
* Communications: Draft, review, and refine executive-level communications, including internal leadership updates, customer correspondence, and briefings to senior DoD officials and industry partners. Required Experience/Qualifications * 10+ years of progressive experience in federal IT program management, business development, or a related field
* Demonstrated experience supporting or managing DoD and/or Federal Civilian IT contracts with values of $50M+
* Strong understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, contract vehicles (IDIQ, BPA, GWAC), and the DoD/IC customer environment
* Proven ability to engage and build relationships at the senior Government official level
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - able to translate complex technical and programmatic concepts into clear executive-level messaging
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a dynamic, high-tempo environment Preferred Experience/Qualifications * Prior military service or significant experience supporting DoD commands and programs (DISA, CYBERCOM, DIA, or equivalent)
* Familiarity with emerging IT domains including cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, identity & access management, and network operations
* PMP, ITIL, or equivalent program management certification
* Bachelor's degree preferred Special Requirements/Security Clearance * Active Secret clearance required Salary Range Salary Minimum: $150,000 Salary Maximum: $185,000 The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
