Job description

The primary role of Neuberger's Product Group is to serve as an objective champion of new product ideas and product actions, facilitating analysis and activity from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with market demand, trends, and strategic business objectives for our institutional, intermediary, and high-net-worth distribution channels. Team members are responsible for all functions related to creating and maintaining a healthy product line across our equity, fixed income, alternative, and multi-asset class investment businesses, with the goal of ensuring that products are successfully researched, designed, priced, positioned, launched, and supported to maximize commercial viability and impact.
Team members must possess in-depth knowledge of the competitive environment, have an informed view of industry trends and be capable of originating and analyzing new product ideas to provide informed opinions regarding the market opportunity for each. In developing analyses, the group leverages the collective knowledge of the organization through its interactions with other functional groups. The team also plays a central role in building consensus for the Firm's overall strategic product plan.
Responsibilities
  • Manage key activities of the product development process that enable the organization to achieve four primary objectives:
    (1) Build breadth and depth of our product offering in key categories
    (2) Pursue innovative opportunities in a focused and thoughtful manner
    (3) Enhance the existing product line to maximize growth potential and exploit product extension opportunities
    (4) Oversee the product range; review the product line to ensure it remains competitive (fund performance, fees, positioning); drive action based on analyses and discussions with internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of new business plans, products, and funds from the initial research / business case through to launch
  • Spearhead product development initiatives, creating proposals and presenting findings to senior management
  • Analyze the market and competitor landscape to identify general investment trends / themes and product flows, including regular periodic analysis and ad-hoc research
  • Integrate and implement initiatives across the business
  • Supervise pricing / market sizing analysis for specific product launches
  • Conduct specific competitor comparison and analysis
  • Assist in developing the firm's product strategy and establishing product goals and prioritization
  • Support the Firm's risk management process related to the review of new products
  • Remain abreast of regulatory changes as they impact products
  • Supervise, train, and develop other members of the team

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree required; MBA and/or CFA a plus
  • Minimum of five years of product development or other relevant experience in the asset management industry
  • Ideal candidates will have led the development of a range of registered and unregistered vehicles (including mutual funds, ETFs, private funds, interval funds, tender offer funds, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry including industry trends, recent developments, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including synthesizing research and conceptual work into actionable deliverables
  • High degree of initiative and accountability, with a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Excellent project management, time management and planning skills
  • Highly organized with ability to multi-task
  • Able to collaborate with teams of people across a range of departments

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $170,000-$190,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement, life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
