Position Summary:
MarshBerry is seeking a VP, Human Resources for our Beachwood, OH location. The VP, Human Resources serves as a strategic business partner to the leadership team and is responsible for designing, leading and executing the firm's people strategy to achieve the company's business plan and growth objectives. The VP of Human Resources leads and develops the HR team to accomplish goals with a focus on attracting, developing, engaging and retaining top talent.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leadership team to ensure Human Resources initiatives are in line with MarshBerry's strategic business plans.
  • Lead the HR function through periods of strategic transformation, including overseeing HR integration for acquisitions, supporting international expansion, and ensuring seamless alignment of people processes as the organization scales.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on talent strategy, workforce planning, organizational design, and change management.
  • Lead, coach, and develop HR team, fostering a high performing, collaborative environment. Build scalable HR infrastructure, systems, and processes to support growth.
  • Oversee, evaluate and continuously improve HR programs such as recruiting, total rewards, learning and development, workforce planning, performance management and employee engagement.
  • Lead the HR Business Partner function to support leaders with performance management, employee relations, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies, programs, and employment practices while balancing business needs and risk management.
  • Address complex employee relations matters with discretion, sound judgment, and legal awareness.
  • Build leadership development and succession planning programs to ensure a strong internal pipeline of future leaders.
  • Promote a continuous learning culture and oversee learning and development strategies that support technical, leadership, and career development.
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to compensation and benefit programs to ensure MarshBerry offerings are attractive and competitive.
  • Champion the culture, values and employee experience across the organization. Lead employee engagement initiatives and advance diversity, equity and inclusion strategies.
  • Oversee HR policies, processes, and controls to mitigate risk in a regulated, client-facing environment.
  • Leverage HR analytics and reporting to inform decision-making and measure impact.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel, vendors, and HR consultants as needed.
  • Perform special events and/or projects as assigned.

Selection Criteria
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or related degrees. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Human Resources designations such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP are preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive human resources experience, with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Prior experience in professional services, investment banking or financial services preferred.
  • Proven experience leading multiple HR functions (Recruiting, HRBP, L&D, Total Rewards) with strong HR Generalist and HRBP experience required.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to operate as a strategic advisor at the executive level.
  • Proven track record of success in a fast paced, high growth environment.

  • Experience with various HRIS. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
