The Vice President - Finance has the primary responsibility to ensure the organization achieves its budgeted financial targets by way of driving revenue growth opportunities and efficiency initiatives to lower the organization's operating costs. The position oversees financial operations for the organization's hospitals and ancillary departments, cost and productivity analysis, case management, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review and supports the revenue cycle team with financial information and strategy. The Vice President - Finance is expected to stay abreast of all industry developments, including regulatory changes and reimbursement changes, and develops new approaches to achieve operational results.

10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in a health care environment.

Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Health Care Administration, or related field, required.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Florida, preferred.

  • Oversees the budgeted financial targets and works with leaders to develop and drive revenue growth opportunities and efficiency initiatives to lower the organization's operating costs.
  • Develops the annual budget and drives initiatives to ensure the attainment of the targeted results for the fiscal year, establishing processes to both assist operational leaders in achieving targeted expense savings and the creation of an effective accountability methodology.
  • Supports the ongoing evaluation of service offerings, the effective negotiation and relationships with payors, effective throughput/length of stay management and data analytics of the organization.
  • Develops projections for current and future years' funding for operating and capital purposes, identifying sources for support as well as a level of need, working with the leaders across the organization to ensure financial viability.
  • Provides strategic oversight of case management, clinical documentation improvement, and utilization review.
  • Maintains current knowledge of practice issues impacting the future of health care delivery and their impact on the financial performance of the organization and advises on necessary changes to improve financial outlook.
  • Supports the management and improvement efforts of the organization's performance, patient safety and overall quality of patient care and operations.
  • Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization's overall mission.   
  • Maintains responsibility for operational excellence; ensures division delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Effectively manages the team within the division by ensuring effective onboarding, education, performance management, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services.  
  • Assumes fiscal responsibility for assigned areas of responsibility and assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources.
  • Ensures communication is cascaded and closes the feedback loop.
