Job description

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed consumer products organization seeking a Vice President, Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function during a period of continued growth and operational transformation. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and team leadership while serving as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and private equity stakeholders.

VP, Controller Responsibilities:
  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and treasury support.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Partner closely with the CFO on board reporting, lender reporting, and private equity ownership requests.
  • Develop and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes to support a growing organization.
  • Lead annual audits and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and FP&A teams to improve visibility into inventory, margins, and overall business performance.
  • Evaluate accounting implications of new business initiatives, commercial agreements, and strategic investments.
  • Assist with acquisition integration activities, purchase accounting, and post-close financial reporting as needed.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
VP, Controller Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA required.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
  • Prior experience as a Controller, VP Controller, Assistant Controller, or Director of Accounting within a consumer products, manufacturing, retail, food & beverage, health & wellness, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working within a private equity-backed environment preferred.
  • Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong business partnership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, supply chain, and commercial teams.
  • Experience supporting audits, lender relationships, and board-level reporting.
  • ERP experience required; NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
