THE ROLE
The Vice President, Venue Technology is a visionary and execution-focused leader responsible for architecting and delivering Legends Global's venue technology strategy across a diverse, global portfolio of stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and hospitality venues. This role drives the end-to-end lifecycle of venue technology, from strategic planning and design to implementation, operations, and continuous innovation.

Reporting directly to the CTO, the VP will lead a high-impact team of regional and venue-based technologists, collaborate cross-functionally with business and operational leaders, and serve as a key voice in shaping the future of venue technology across the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Develop and execute a multi-year venue technology roadmap aligned with Legends Global's business strategy, operational priorities, and guest experience goals.
Serve as the executive sponsor for venue technology innovation, advising senior leadership on emerging trends, investment opportunities, and competitive differentiation.
Champion enterprise-wide initiatives such as smart venue platforms, digital twin technologies, and AI-driven operational intelligence.
Oversight of venue technology budgets
Partner on new venue construction and major renovation projects.

Technology Architecture & Operations
Oversee the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of mission-critical systems including:
Network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, DAS, 5G)
AV and broadcast systems (IPTV, control rooms, digital signage
Compute and storage environments (hybrid cloud, edge computing)
Venue IT operations (access control, ticketing, incident management)
Establish and enforce enterprise standards for technology architecture, cybersecurity, scalability, and interoperability across all venues.
Program & Vendor Management
Lead complex, multi-venue technology programs including
Frictionless retail and biometric access
RFID-based inventory and asset tracking
Cellular/DAS modernization and fiber backbone upgrades
Own vendor strategy across venue technology domains, including RFPs, contract negotiations, SLAs, and performance management.

Team Leadership & Talent Development
Build and mentor a world-class venue technology organization, including regional directors, systems engineers, and venue technologists.
Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning through structured development programs, cross-functional collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify and pilot emerging technologies that enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and guest engagement.
Drive adoption of advanced analytics, IoT, and AI/ML to optimize venue operations, predict maintenance needs, and personalize guest experiences.
Lead post-event retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives to refine technology performance and service delivery.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legend Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline required; Master's degree or MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in enterprise or venue technology leadership, with 7+ years in executive-level roles overseeing large-scale, multi-site operations.
Proven success in leading technology transformation initiatives across sports, entertainment, hospitality, or other high-volume guest-facing industries.
Experience managing global or national portfolios of venues, with demonstrated ability to scale technology operations and standardize platforms across diverse environments.
Track record of delivering complex capital projects involving infrastructure modernization, digital innovation, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment

Skills and Abilities
Deep expertise in venue technology ecosystems, including:
Networking: Enterprise-grade LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, DAS, 5G, SD-WAN (Cisco, Aruba, Extreme)
AV/Broadcast: Control rooms, IPTV, digital signage, live production systems (QSYS, Ross, Evertz)
Compute & Storage: Hybrid cloud, edge computing, virtualization (VxRail, Nutanix, VMware)
Security & Access: Physical security, surveillance, access control, Zero Trust (Genetec, Avigilon)
Guest Tech: Biometric access, RFID, mobile engagement platforms
Strong command of enterprise architecture principles, cybersecurity frameworks, and ITIL/DevOps best practices.
Experience integrating data platforms, AI/ML models, and IoT systems to drive operational intelligence and personalized guest experiences.
Exceptional leadership skills with a history of building and scaling high-performing, geographically distributed teams.
Adept at navigating complex organizational structures and influencing senior stakeholders across business units.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets, vendor ecosystems, and long-term technology investment strategies.
Skilled in translating technical strategy into business outcomes, with a focus on ROI, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, including major event support, venue openings, and crisis response.
