Job description

Safety Worxs is seeking an local experienced High Angle Rescue Lead to support a long-term construction project in Honolulu, HI. This is a hands-on field role responsible for providing technical rescue support during high-risk construction activities, ensuring rescue readiness, and responding to emergency situations while maintaining compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the designated High Angle Rescue Technician for the project.
  • Maintain rescue readiness for all elevated work, confined spaces, and other high-risk activities.
  • Inspect, maintain, and document rescue equipment, ropes, harnesses, and rigging systems.
  • Participate in pre-task planning, hazard assessments, and rescue planning.
  • Respond to emergency rescue situations safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct rescue drills and assist with emergency response training.
  • Work closely with site safety personnel to ensure compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 standards.
  • Complete daily documentation, equipment inspections, and incident reports.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of High Angle Rescue experience supporting commercial, industrial, heavy civil, or federal construction projects.
  • Current High Angle Rescue Technician certification (or equivalent nationally recognized certification).
  • Strong working knowledge of rope rescue systems, fall protection, rigging, and rescue operations.
  • Experience working on active construction sites with complex rescue hazards.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (current).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding rescue operations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to pass all project-specific DBIDS background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EM 385-1-1 experience.
  • Confined Space Rescue experience.
  • Rope Access certification (SPRAT or IRATA).
  • Previous experience supporting U.S. Navy, USACE, DoD, or other federal projects.
