Job description

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Visual Communications Coordinator serves as the primary support and coordinator for University-related photography and videography, including commercial photos, University event photography, promotional videos, PSAs, commercials, and other photo/video requests as needed. The Visual Communications Coordinator should view this position as an opportunity to communicate the purpose and underlying message of DBU as a Christ-centered academic institution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A cooperative attitude toward DBU's goals and environment
  • The ability to organize, manage, problem-solve, focus, and work well with others
  • High level of knowledge of video and photography equipment, as well as post-production software, including Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro
  • General graphic design skills, including working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills and a willingness to learn other skills necessary to the fulfillment of job duties
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and help others meet deadlines

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as the backup for the University photographer for DBU
  • Works with outside departments to provide photo and video needs at the discretion of the Director of Visual Communications, Director of Marketing and Communications, and the Senior Vice President
  • Schedules any photoshoots, video shoots, or video needs on campus
  • Helps to oversee the management of all Marketing and Communications photo and video equipment
  • Helps to provide photography and videography support for the University Communications-related items, such as the DBU Report, promotional pieces, enrollment pieces, and social media
  • Coordinates all student workers' schedules as well as workload
  • Provides photography support for on-campus DBU events at the discretion of the Director of Visual Communications
  • Provides photography support for off-campus DBU events at the discretion of the Director of Visual Communications
  • Helps to schedule outside photographers and videographers as needed
  • Helps schedule DBU students and personnel needed for video or photo shoots
  • Provides video support for on-campus DBU events at the discretion of the Director of Visual Communications
  • Provides video support for off-campus DBU events at the discretion of the Director of Visual Communications
  • Helps to oversee the production of DBU commercials, DBU promotional videos, and other DBU video needs
  • Helps to oversee DBU's digital asset manager, PhotoShelter
  • Assists in managing and maintaining the department's ClickUp workspace, including creating and updating tasks, tracking project progress, and ensuring team members' assignments and deadlines are current
  • Helps to oversee and execute the post-production of all University Communication photo and video assets
  • Works in coordination with other divisions within University Communication to provide photo and video assets as needed
  • Continue to develop professionally in the fields of visual communication, management, leadership, and production
  • Perform various duties as assigned by the Director of Visual Communications, Director of Marketing and Communications, Senior Vice President, and President

WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position.
WORK LOCATION:
This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211
  • Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
