Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Client Virtualization Engineering Team Lead to architect, design, implement, and support enterprise virtual desktop platforms for a global organization. This role will focus on Desktop Virtualization technologies, enabling secure, high-performance virtual workspaces for IT and Engineering, software development, and CAD, for Global Teams.

Architecture & Solution Design

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale virtual desktop solutions including, but not limited to, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Omnissa Horizon, and Omnissa Workspace ONE.

  • Own the development of global VDI architecture standards, design patterns, roadmaps, and operational best practices.

  • Build highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient digital workspace environments across regions.

  • Lead technical design reviews, vendor evaluations, platform modernization, and architecture governance activities.

Engineering & Software Development Enablement

  • Lead the design of virtual workstation solutions for software development, engineering applications, CAD/EDA tools, simulation platforms, DevOps environments, and test/validation workflows.

  • Optimize virtual desktops for graphics-intensive and compute-intensive engineering workloads, including GPU-enabled use cases.

  • Partner with Engineering teams to translate application and development requirements into fit-for-purpose workspace solutions.

  • Enable secure remote access to engineering resources while protecting intellectual property and maintaining a strong user experience.

Platform Operations & Support

  • Provide L3/L4 support for Citrix and Omnissa production platforms, including troubleshooting of performance, connectivity, authentication, profile, image, and application delivery issues.

  • Oversee MSP performance of platform upgrades, patching, capacity planning, monitoring, health checks, documentation, and lifecycle management.

  • Lead root cause analysis, problem management, service improvement plans, and operational readiness reviews.

  • Create repeatable processes to improve reliability, availability, scalability, and user satisfaction.

Security, Compliance & Access Control

  • Partner with Cybersecurity and Identity teams to implement secure virtual desktop architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles.

  • Support integration with MFA, SSO, Conditional Access, identity federation, endpoint compliance, and privileged access controls.

  • Ensure virtual desktop platforms align with corporate security, audit, data protection, and compliance standards.

  • Implement workspace security best practices for engineering and software development environments.

Automation & Cloud Integration

  • Automate provisioning, image management, configuration, reporting, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, Terraform, or Ansible.

  • Integrate virtual desktop platforms with hybrid infrastructure and cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop, and AWS.

  • Improve operational efficiency through automation, self-service, infrastructure-as-code, and standardized deployment models.

  • Support future Desktop-as-a-Service and cloud-hosted virtual desktop transformation initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.

  • Eight (8) years of experience supporting enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or End User Computing platforms.

  • Five (5) years of hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, or related Citrix technologies.

  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience with Omnissa Horizon and Omnissa Workspace ONE.

  • Experience designing and supporting global environments with distributed users, regional infrastructure, and enterprise support requirements.

  • Experience supporting engineering or software development organizations with performance-sensitive applications and specialized workspace needs.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, virtualization, networking, identity, storage, user profiles, and application delivery layers.
