Job description

The MRI Technologist Trainee learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of MRI through on-the job training under the direction of a registered technologist.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the scanning room to ensure their safety.
  • Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (If applicable) and Akumin requirements.
  • Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met.
  • Other job duties as needed.

Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate from college or technical school or enrolled in a Radiology program.
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Radiology or MRI program + CPR certification.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • For trainees performing mid-day moves:
    • Active state driver's license.
  • Ability to work at several locations
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
  • The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment
  • All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Preferred:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate from college or technical school.
  • Completion of a Radiology program.
  • Experience in patient care environment.
