SUBSTITUTE TEACHER POSITION 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR (CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)
All applications will be carefully reviewed by the Administration. Selected candidates will be contacted to participate in a virtual meet and greet.
If recommended for substitute employment, you will receive additional paperwork to complete the application process.
Final candidates will be recommended to the Superintendent of Schools for approval by the Board.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • New Jersey Teaching Certificate OR Valid County Substitute Certificate
  • The ability to work effectively with students at all intellectual levels and to establish and maintain good rapport while working closely with other teachers and administrators
  • Criminal history background clearance for Long Branch Public School District
  • A negative tuberculosis result from the current year, up to two years prior.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
To enable each child to pursue his or her education as smoothly as possible in the absence of the regular teacher
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Report to the Building Principal upon arrival at school at least 15-30 minutes before the official school opening
  • Review lesson plans, attendance forms, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
  • Provide instruction as outlined in the lesson plans provided
  • Follow all school policies and procedures.
  • Assume responsibly of ensuring appropriate behavior of students under your supervision.

*Applications will be reviewed, followed by a Virtual Substitute Meet & Greet with the Building Principal. Final candidates will be recommended to the Superintendent of Schools for approval by the Board.*
