Job description

WBRE/WYOU seeks to hire a streaming content producer to produce and manage content for digital platforms, including a connected television app, YouTube channel and website live streams. This is a technical and creative role working closely with the digital team, newsroom leaders, reporters and engineering team.
  • Content creation: Work collaboratively with the team of video journalists and reporters to create content that's optimized for multiple platforms, including broadcast television, websites and social media
  • Content curation: Schedule connected television app programming by crafting blocks of engaging content. Manage YouTube strategy to increase audience size and loyalty.
  • Organization: Organize source materials into multimedia pieces and aggregated video streams.
  • Live Stream Production: Assist with live streams of breaking news, daily events and pre-planned programming.
  • Guest interview management: Book and produce conversations with invited guests, both virtual and in-person.

Requirements & Skills:
  • Degree in journalism, video production or other fields related to media content management
  • Experience producing streaming and social video content
  • Understanding of digital platforms, trends and audience behaviors
  • Knowledge of WordPress, OBS/vMix, Akta or similar digital content management systems
  • Strong writing and editorial ability
  • Ability to adjust schedule based on major and breaking news events
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • 3+ years' experience in a local newsroom preferred
