Local Boy Outfittersย is a consumer apparel and lifestyle brand offering clothing and accessories centered around outdoor enthusiasts and Southern culture.ย ย Originally founded as a male-focused t-shirt company, Local Boy today offers more than 25 product categories including button-ups, outwear, performance apparel, bottoms, and accessories for men, women, and kids.ย ย ย 

OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to theย Co-Founder /ย Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors, the Vice President- Finance will be a key partner to the executive leadership team as well as the Board in the execution of the Companyโ€™s strategic plan and achievement of financial goals. We are seeking a dynamic leader to take a hands-on approach leading the daily operations of the accounting department and collaborate with the executive team in developing and executing strategic financial objectives.ย ย ย 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manageย the finance and accounting function for the business, includingย personnel,ย tax, treasury,ย policiesย and proceduresย 
  • Establish financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems,ย including transitioning the business to complete GAAP accrual accountingย 
  • Hire, train, develop, inspire, and lead a team across accounting, HR, and IT functionsย ย 
  • Oversee the monthly closing process. Including internal and external reporting/deadlinesย 
  • Leadย the planning, coordination, and implementation of the annual capital and operating budget process inย collaborationย with other members of the executive team and the private equity sponsorย 
  • Deliverย timely,ย accurate, and comprehensive financial reportsย 
  • Drive ERP enhancement/conversion, including the implementation of industry-standard softwareย ย 
  • Develop internal job-costing capabilities, allowing Company management to track revenue and margin by projectย ย 
  • Leadย external auditsย 
  • Complete weekly flash/KPIย dashboard, and manage key third-party relationshipsย 
  • Participate inย add-onย acquisitionย due diligence and post-close integrationย 
  • Manage HR, IT, payroll, and health insurance functionsย 
  • Act as a key liaison for private equityย sponsorย and lendersย 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting, an MBA/Masterโ€™s degree in accounting/related preferred (CPA preferred but notย required)ย 
  • A minimum of 2-3 years serving as a Controller/similar position for a mid-sized companyย 
  • Minimum ofย 4ย years of audit at a national public accounting firmย 
  • ERP implementation (NetSuite preferred)ย ย 
  • Experienceย with organizations thatย are in the retail,ย distributionย or manufacturing industriesย 
  • M&A due diligence, post-acquisition integration, and onboarding experienceย ย 
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsย 
  • Private equity sponsor experience is highly valuedย
