How much do non union ups jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for non union ups in the United States is $19.11, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.59 and $21.15 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Which UPS jobs are union?

Union membership at UPS typically applies to package delivery drivers, warehouse workers, and some maintenance roles, often represented by unions like the Teamsters. These positions usually require union dues and collective bargaining agreements. Non-union roles at UPS are generally administrative or management positions without union representation.

Why did UPS lay off 48,000 employees?

UPS, which employs many non-union employees, laid off around 48,000 workers primarily due to restructuring efforts, automation, and changes in package volume during the COVID-19 pandemic. These layoffs aimed to improve operational efficiency and adapt to shifting logistics demands.

Is UPS really paying $49 an hour?

Non-union UPS package handlers and other roles typically do not pay $49 an hour; wages are generally lower and depend on location, experience, and shift. The $49 per hour figure may be an exaggeration or refer to different positions or overtime rates, but it is not the standard pay for non-union UPS employees.

Are all UPS drivers unionized?

Not all UPS drivers are unionized; many are part of the Teamsters Union, which negotiates wages, benefits, and working conditions. However, union membership can vary by location and employment status, and some drivers may work as non-union employees or contractors. Unionized drivers typically have collective bargaining agreements that protect their rights and benefits.
