TheRegional VP Retail will understand and integrate the retail needs in a productive manner. They will be able to make a contribution to Loro Piana Americas and act as brand ambassadors, steward and leader for their teams, in order to creatively build the business. The right candidate is someone who understands the essence of Loro Piana to be a compelling fashion authority.

This role is dynamic, strategic and is a motivator of the sales executives and store staff. S/he will spend most of their time in the market, not in the office. S/he will be a field general who has a strong grasp of distribution strategy to present a unified Loro Piana presence direct to the consumer. The ideal candidate will be able to manage the day-to-day workings of the business, with an eye on long-term strategy and initiatives.

The Regional VP Retail must have innate passion for the brand with the ability to focus on business results. S/he will be an inspirational and motivational leader while being a financially astute P&L manager. The ideal candidate will be able to form strong cross-functional relationships across all departments.

Job responsibilities
  • Is constantly informed on the luxury world, competitors, and shares this knowledge with the store teams in order to maximize opportunities.
  • Partners with store management to establish and maintain Loro Piana's impeccable brand image regarding client management and development
  • Shares annual and monthly business objectives with store management and assures follow-up, proposing and implementing sales plans in order to increase sales.
  • Fosters a synergistic environment among stores in order to best serve the client (sharing clients, team selling, etc.)
  • Monitors store performance through KPI analysis, creating action plans on a store-by-store basis to improve performance.
  • Defines and implements succession planning throughout the region, in tandem with store management and HR, utilizing individual development plans to set clear expectations, and achieve specific, measurable results.
Strategic Business Planning
  • Partners with the VP Retail on budgeting, adjusting plans when necessary to address unforeseen opportunities, to maintain profitability of the region.
  • Leads market research activities and provides effective and timely feedback and insights to local HQ about the market, competitors, customer shopping behaviors, product and pricing. Utilizes this data to improve performance of the region.
  • Analyzes the market and monitors the real estate situation, developing a network in the luxury sector, to understand and plan for market shifts, new developments, etc.
  • Identifies and evaluates potential future locations.
Client Relationship Management
  • Increases the number of loyal "best" customers, by systematically monitoring and analyzing customer profile (spending habits, frequency of purchase, product categories, etc.), and proposing ad hoc activities to increase loyalty.
  • Educates teams on the nuances of the individual South markets and strategizes new ways to tap into location-specific activities and opportunities.
  • Proposes opportunities regarding in-store activities and events for the region in line with the Loro Piana brand image, coordinating with HQ functions, in order to best serve the local client.
  • Empowers the store management team in the region to partner with local organizations to leverage resources and build customer database and loyalty.
  • Builds rapport and oversees relationships with existing and prospective VIC's, setting the standard for clienteling excellence while actively coaching store teams to develop, maintain, and grow these relationships in a consistent and scalable way.
  • Partner with Regional Retail Merchandising and Visual Merchandising teams to foster alignment between commercial objectives, brand standards, and market execution.
  • Provides market insight, qualitative feedback, and commercial perspective to Regional teams to inform assortment decisions, floor sets, and visual storytelling.
  • Monitors commercial outcomes related to merchandising and visual execution (e.g. sell-through, space productivity) and escalates insights, risks, or opportunities to the appropriate Regional stakeholders.
Profile
  • Master's or bachelor's degree, or appropriate mix of education and work experience.
  • Previous experience in a multi-unit store environment within a luxury brand.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive.
  • Ability to work independently to drive results.
  • Agility to work within a structure, but able to be creative and implement "out-of-the-box" strategies to creatively build the business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of building, and leading teams to achieve sales and customer service goals. Personally driven by developing leadership and sales organizations.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Knowledge and understanding of retail store operations, open-to-buy, stock management and loss prevention, sales, assortment planning, and expense control.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of luxury industry.
  • Strong computer skills, and ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel 70-80% of the time.
