Vice President of Operations for Virginia

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Operations to lead the development and growth of our new Virginia laboratory operation. As part of the Diamond Medical Laboratories team, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational activities, building and scaling a new startup laboratory operation, and developing strategic plans to ensure operational efficiency and compliance. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all day-to-day operational activities for the Virginia laboratory location

  • Assist in building and scaling a new startup laboratory operation in Virginia

  • Develop and implement operational workflows, policies, and performance standards

  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership and the Laboratory Director to ensure operational efficiency and compliance

  • Manage staffing models, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and operational training programs

  • Ensure proper coordination between laboratory departments, logistics, accessioning, reporting, and client services

  • Monitor turnaround times, workflow metrics, staffing productivity, and service quality

  • Support implementation and optimization of laboratory information systems (LIS) and operational technologies

  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, and applicable Virginia regulations

  • Serve as a key operational contact for Long-Term Care clients and healthcare partners

  • Assist with inventory management, vendor relationships, and operational purchasing

  • Develop scalable systems and processes to support company growth

  • Participate in business development, client retention, and operational expansion initiatives

  • Coordinate operational response to audits, inspections, corrective actions, and quality initiatives

  • Ensure critical operational issues are resolved efficiently and professionally

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Business, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare or laboratory operations management experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory operations and Long-Term Care service environments

  • Experience managing high-volume healthcare operations preferred

  • Startup, growth-stage, or multi-site operational experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with laboratory information systems and operational reporting tools

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and clinical personnel

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in clinical laboratory operations

  • Experience servicing Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facilities
