Job description

Apsida Life Science is currently partnering with a growing health-focused organisation transitioning from a top-tier animal health innovator into the human healthcare sector. With deep scientific expertise and a track record of success in veterinary markets, this company is now expanding its focus into novel therapeutic platforms for human medicine.

This is a unique opportunity to take on a senior leadership role in a company where your voice will be heard, and your impact will be direct. As VP of Business Development, you’ll have the chance to help shape the company’s growth strategy across both the U.S. and Europe while building out a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead business development strategy for expansion into human health markets
  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, and commercial collaborations
  • Represent the company at conferences, investor meetings, and across external partner networks
  • Work closely with the executive leadership team to support pipeline prioritisation and growth planning
  • Build and manage a cross-regional business development team (US and EU)
  • Translate scientific and commercial insight into actionable growth initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Extensive business development experience within life sciences, ideally spanning animal and human healthcare
  • Proven ability to lead partnership and licensing discussions from sourcing through execution
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to operate across both early-stage biotech and established market environments
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration skills
  • Based in or willing to commute regularly to Austin, TX (50% onsite)
