Summary

Drive efficient inventory operations and ensure the seamless movement of products across our supply chain. As a Lead Inventory Clerk, you will play a key role in coordinating outbound shipments, managing packaged poultry products, and maintaining accurate inventory processes that keep operations running smoothly. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure orders are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time while upholding our high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading by example while delivering operational excellence.

Compensation

This position has a target wage of $23.00 - $34.25 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

In addition to hourly wages, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.

Schedule: 3rd Shift: Monday through Friday, 10:00pm - 6:00am

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and labels.
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers and production teams.
  • Ensure accurate product labeling and packaging.
  • Maintain shipping records and databases.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales teams as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • 1+ year of experience in shipping or logistics regulations (e.g., USDA, DOT).
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Experience exposure primarily to wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient and 100% humidity.
  • Handle products ranging from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Experience noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 110 dB.
  • Experience exposure to dust, feathers, and chemicals used in a poultry food-processing facility.
  • Wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Experience occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors at 10 ppm and chlorine at less than 20 ppm.
  • Stand for several hours.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs., reach, bend, and push boxes on a conveyor assembly.
