Used Car Manager

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Used Car Manager.ย In this position, you will oversee the Used Car department for both Honda of North Attleboro and Balise Used Cars.

The Used Car Manager manages the activities of all sales staff, ensuring sales targets and customer service levels areย achieved. This individual is responsible for training, cross-training, and developing all sales staff.

  • The Used Carย Manager reports to the General Sales Manager.
  • The Used Car Manager directly manages Lot Attendants and Sales Representatives.

Job Description:

Essential Functions -

  • Appraising, reconditioning, displaying, and merchandising the vehicles
  • Attend weekly wholesale auction and evaluate market trends to determine appraisal best practices
  • Setting objectives for the department and accomplishing them through planning, organizing, controlling, and measuring the performance of pre-owned car sales.
  • Enforce an inventory aging policy based on a 75-day turn
  • Work with sales associates on programs that will increase the pre-owned vehicle gross
  • Actively purchasing vehicles from auction with guidance of GM
  • Monitor customer and market analyses to determine what vehicles customers want to purchase
  • Analyze inventory reports and trends to make plans for problem vehicles
  • Organize daily trade walks with sales team
  • Work with designated used car service writer to ensure retail used cars are safety checked, all recalls complete, and ready within 3-4 days of trade.

Performance Measurements & Expectations -

  • Sales Per Salespersonย - 10 units sold per person
  • Manufacturer Sales Requirement - 110% of store goal or SFE/D2E (to be presented monthly)
  • F&I - $1,800 minimum
  • Sales Satisfaction Index (CSI)ย - 100% or greater of MFGโ€™s zone group average
  • Sales Gross Profitย - $3,500 minimum per sold unit average
  • Sales Associate Retention Rateย - (6 months)

Environmental & Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may incidentally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch, lift weight, or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds
  • This position may require travel
