Job Description

Summary:
The Used Car Buyer plays a key role in growing our used car inventory by connecting with current vehicle owners, building rapport, and guiding them through the appraisal and purchase process.
This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service or sales skills who is eager to learn the vehicle buying process and grow into an acquisitions career.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and follow up with potential sellers by phone, text, and email to schedule appraisal appointments.
  • Greet and engage dealership visitors in the showroom or service drive to start conversations about selling their vehicle.
  • Collect vehicle details through customer questions, photos, and data entry into our inventory management system.
  • Partner with Sales Managers to review appraisals and present fair, competitive offers to customers.
  • Facilitate smooth hand-offs to the Sales Department for guests interested in purchasing a new or pre-owned vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate notes and updates in the CRM to track progress and manage leads.
  • Review monthly goals with management and adjust plans to maximize acquisition opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in customer-facing sales or dealership support roles (sales, BDC, receptionist, service advisor, etc.)
  • Strong ability to engage with customers, build rapport quickly, and present information in a clear and professional manner.
  • Confident communicator with persuasive skills, both in person and over the phone.
  • Highly motivated, persistent, and organized when following up with leads and appointments.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and digital tools to track progress and manage customer interactions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (background check, drug test, and MVR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive purchasing or appraisal experience
