Job description

Overview
We are looking for a Microservice Developer with 3+ years experience to work on an Agile DevSecOps team that supports a portfolio at USCIS.
This position is full-time remote / telework.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Java-based microservices that meet requirements for code quality and performance.
  • Ability to perform moderately challenging tasks with a degree of autonomy
  • Maintain expected velocity and deliver software on schedule.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, monthly agile ceremonies including standups, retrospectives, demos, etc.
  • Act as an integral member of an agile team mentoring more junior resources while continuing to deliver software.

Qualifications
  • Ability to receive DHS EOD required / Current DHS EOD preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication experience.
  • Ability to work in a high-speed delivery focused environment.
  • Ability to work in a fully remote environment and maintain delivery tempo.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the tools, techniques, and methodologies below.
    • Experience in Java Development
    • Understanding of Microservice patterns and concepts
    • Ability to troubleshoot issues
    • Ability to research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring knowledge to the team
    • Understanding of DevSecOps tools, principles, and execution
    • Experience with Agile and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, GitHub, JUnit, Insomnia, etc.
    • Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Kafka, and developing in/for a containerized AWS environment.
