Position Summary
The Director of University Partnerships is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding high-impact external partnerships that support La Salle's strategic priorities. These partnerships include, but are not limited to, collaborations with businesses and corporations, other institutions of higher education, government and civic entities, nonprofit organizations, and key community stakeholders, with a focus on increasing enrollment, expanding student pathways to degree completion, and strengthening the University's presence and reputation in Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have experience with generating auxiliary revenue through partnerships and agreements. while generating new revenue for the institution.
Capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Director evaluates new and existing partnership opportunities using a strategic and data-informed approach and provides recommendations on the most effective path forward. The role requires building and sustaining strong relationships with business leaders, elected officials, civic partners, and prominent alumni, while also collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure partnerships are aligned with institutional priorities and deliver meaningful, measurable impact and tangible return on investment
Essential Duties
  • Develop, manage, and expand a portfolio of strategic external partnerships aligned with the University's strategic plan, enrollment goals, and mission.
  • Identify and advance partnership opportunities to support enrollment pipelines, workforce development, experiential learning, employer-sponsored education, and institutional revenue.
  • Serve as the University's primary point of coordination for strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment and avoiding duplication across academic and administrative departments.
  • Evaluate existing and proposed partnerships using qualitative and quantitative measures, including impact, sustainability, and return on investment.
  • Provide clear, data-informed recommendations regarding the initiation, continuation, expansion, restructuring, and sunsetting of partnerships.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with business executives, corporate partners, government officials, workforce and economic development organizations, nonprofit leaders, and prominent alumni.
  • Represent the University at external meetings, events, and forums, serving as an ambassador for La Salle University in advancing its strategic and civic priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with advancement, enrollment, marketing, and communications teams to ensure partnerships are effectively leveraged and aligned with institutional messaging and recruitment efforts.
  • Support the development of partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding, and related documentation in coordination with internal stakeholders and counsel, as appropriate.
  • Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for senior leadership related to partnership strategy, opportunities, and outcomes.

Secondary Responsibilities
  • Participate on University committees, task forces, or working groups as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of University strategy and institutional priorities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Policy, Education, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience working directly with external partners or stakeholders and actively contributing to the development and advancement of collaborative relationships in support of organizational or strategic goals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with a variety of constituents, both internal and external.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with experience conducting research, writing reports, and preparing presentations.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business, Communications, Public Policy, Higher Education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and advancing external partnerships, alliances, and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience working with and engaging senior executives, elected officials, and/or civic leaders.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours to attend events or meetings.
  • Local and regional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, and events.
