The Union Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. This full-time position is structured to be primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while still providing critical services to our patients. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, carefully considering each patient's unique cultural background and lived experiences to inform treatment planning.
• Apply a range of evidence-based interventions in therapeutic sessions tailored to the individual needs of clients, ensuring they receive care that resonates with their cultural identity.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to directly address mental health conditions, supporting resilience and emotional well-being for all participants.
• Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other specialists to coordinate holistic care that encompasses a wide range of mental health concerns and treatment strategies.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, utilizing established protocols to guide clients effectively through difficult times.
• Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, helping them understand treatment options and connecting them with community resources.
• Maintain precise and confidential client documentation in adherence to legal standards and ethical practices.
• Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing cultural competency training to enhance professional skills and promote effective collaboration.
• Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in mental health treatment, particularly as they pertain to cultural sensitivity.

Our patients come from various backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrant families. This rich diversity of client demographics calls for therapists who can provide culturally-informed and community-centered mental health services. As a therapist at Union Counseling Center, you will play a crucial role in helping these clients navigate their mental health challenges, significantly improving their quality of life and community integration.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a current and valid license as LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
• A deep understanding of various mental health disorders along with evidence-based treatment modalities and cultural competence in therapy.
• Prior experience in delivering individual and group therapy, utilizing an approach that respects and acknowledges cultural differences.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, demonstrating an ability to maintain composure and provide support during high-pressure situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to establish rapport and trust with clients of diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and proficiency with related software applications.
• A commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
• Ability to work cohesively as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience providing therapy in a multicultural setting, tailored to the specific needs of varied populations.
• Proficiency in using evidence-based practices and a demonstrated record of positive patient outcomes.
• Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution in clinical settings.

The salary range for this position is USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes:
