Position Overview

Union Counseling Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate licensed mental health therapists to join our expanding team. This full-time position allows you to work remotely while providing essential support to patients in our outpatient psychiatric office. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify each patient's specific needs, challenges, and goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individuals, couples, and families, utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.
  • Facilitate engaging psychoeducational workshops and support groups, creating a safe space for discussions about common mental health issues.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists and psychologists to ensure well-rounded, effective patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, offering immediate support during mental health emergencies and connecting patients with necessary resources.
  • Educate patients on their mental health conditions, treatment options, and local resources to promote informed decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, adhering strictly to legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education workshops to stay current with advancements in mental health treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse client base encountering various mental health challenges. Our patients include children, adolescents, adults, and families from varying backgrounds seeking assistance with emotional, behavioral, and psychological difficulties. You will play a vital role in helping these individuals navigate their journeys toward recovery and wellness.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate effective treatment plans.
  • Experience delivering individual and group therapy to diverse populations and backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Sound ethical judgment and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and technology tools utilized for clinical documentation.
  • A collaborative mindset, emphasizing teamwork as a key component of effective patient care.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in crisis intervention and management.
  • Previous work in outpatient settings with a focus on evidence-based therapies.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support services in the Baltimore area.
Compensation and Benefits
