Job description

Definition:

Assists with general operations of the home care office, as assigned by the Office Manager.

Line of Authority:

Office Manager, Administrator/Director of Services

Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma.
  2. Additional business and computer courses desirable.
  3. Experience in computer data entry, accounting, related field, or general office work desirable
Performance Requirements:
  1. Able to sit, stand or walk up to 8 hours per day.
  2. Able to bend, stoop, squat and twist numerous times a day to perform duties of filing, typing, inventory, etc.
  3. Able to see and hear adequately to effectively respond to auditory and visual requests related to office activities.
  4. Able to speak in clear, concise voice in order to communicate effectively in the office and on the telephone.
  5. Able to carry out fine motor skills with manual dexterity required for typing, filing, etc.
  6. Mental acuity to learn and apply job-related training
  7. Must have reliable personal transportation.
Specific Responsibilities:

According to HomeCare policies and procedures and under the direction of the Office Manager;

  1. Operates telephone/switchboard as assigned
  2. Processes incoming/outgoing mail and messages
  3. Assists in taking Job Applications
  4. Prepares assessment packets
  5. Maintains inventory of office supplies/forms
  6. Maintains inventory control of medical supplies
  7. Maintains medical records
  8. Makes photocopies and FAXes information as indicated
  9. Maintains Call Book
  10. Delivers orders, etc. to physician's offices as requested
  11. Processes and tracks physician orders
  12. Assists with billing activities as needed
  13. Performs miscellaneous typing, data entry, filing, copying duties, etc
  14. Completes data entry of patient/other information
  15. Other duties as assigned by the Office Manager/Adm/DOS
