Job description

Under limited guidance, work at the business unit level developing the end-to-end solution architecture for significant initiatives in partnership with key business and IT stakeholders.


Essential Functions

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to shape end-to-end solution architecture for our Enterprise Timekeeping and HCM applications, including UKG/Kronos platforms
  • Explore and document current-state architecture across interconnected systems, helping the team identify thoughtful paths toward future-state designs
  • Dive into existing codebases to build a clear understanding of how systems work - tracing data flows, recognizing patterns, and surfacing key architectural decisions
  • Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) as a natural part of your daily workflow - to make sense of unfamiliar code, draft documentation, and move implementation forward more efficiently
  • Help ensure AI-assisted outputs are validated against enterprise needs including security, compliance, and performance
  • Support migration planning and provide technical guidance across active transformation initiatives
  • Mentor and support colleagues in less senior positions
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with UKG and Kronos systems, and solution architecture across enterprise applications - ideally in HCM, payroll, or timekeeping, though adjacent domains are welcome
  • Comfortable using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) as part of your everyday workflow for learning, building, and documenting
  • Willingness to be hands-on with code - this role goes beyond diagrams and planning
  • Strong communicator who can connect with business stakeholders, vendor teams, and developers
  • General knowledge of hardware, software, and network architecture
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.

Domicile Information:

This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN;ย Pittsburgh, PA or Plano, TX. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.
