Job Responsibilities

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Oversees the daily operations of the Medical Records Department

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Provides ICD-9/10 and CPT codes for all diagnoses and procedures in the medical record.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Abstracting, analyzing, auditing, and coding of all medical records in a timely manner.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Oversees the release of medical record information, archiving/storage of medical records, and the transcription/dictation processing.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Collects and analyzes data for quality improvement.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Completes quarterly performance improvement reports in a timely manner.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Suggests changes to Medical Record policies and procedures.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Functions as a member on assigned committees.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Works closely with nursing, social work, and finance to ensure PPS compliance and unit profitability.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Looks to become highly involved in areas outside specific job function.ย 

Qualifications

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of office procedures, medical terminology, typing, filing, transcription, and computers is required.
