2026 Season
The Transportation & Fleet Manager is responsible for the overall management, safety, reliability, and execution of the employee transportation program. This position oversees all employee shuttle operations, fleet maintenance coordination, transportation scheduling, driver supervision, transportation-related emergency response activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Transportation & Fleet Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for ensuring employees have safe and reliable transportation between employee housing and work locations. The role manages daily transportation operations running from 4:00 AM through 12:15 AM, supervises shuttle drivers, develops transportation policies and procedures, coordinates fleet maintenance, and responds to operational disruptions and emergency transportation needs.
This position requires strong leadership, operational decision-making, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, efficient, and dependable transportation program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Transportation Operations
  • Manage all employee transportation operations and daily shuttle service execution.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve shuttle routes and schedules.
  • Partner with department leaders to ensure transportation schedules support operational staffing needs.
  • Coordinate transportation support for employee activities, special events, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor transportation performance and identify opportunities to improve service reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure transportation coverage and continuity throughout all operating hours.

Driver Leadership & Staffing
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop shuttle drivers.
  • Supervise transportation team members and establish performance expectations.
  • Monitor driver attendance, professionalism, customer service, and compliance with company standards.
  • Provide coaching, corrective action, and performance feedback as needed.
  • Establish transportation best practices and operational standards.
  • Build staffing plans that support operational needs and minimize service interruptions.

Safety & Risk Management
  • Develop and maintain transportation safety procedures and operating standards.
  • Create and implement weather-related transportation protocols and contingency plans.
  • Monitor safe driving practices and investigate transportation incidents.
  • Conduct driver training focused on safety, professionalism, and emergency response.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.

Fleet Management
  • Oversee fleet cleanliness, appearance, and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair activities.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and ensure timely resolution of maintenance concerns.
  • Develop vehicle cleaning procedures and fleet care standards.
  • Maintain transportation and fleet-related records and documentation.

Emergency Transportation & Employee Support
  • Coordinate transportation related to employee medical appointments, urgent care visits, and hospital transportation.
  • Manage transportation logistics associated with employee separations and terminations.
  • Respond to transportation disruptions caused by weather, staffing shortages, vehicle issues, or operational emergencies.
  • Serve as the primary transportation point of contact during emergency situations.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted transportation service.

Operational Coverage
  • Provide and coordinate transportation coverage during driver absences and staffing shortages.
  • Support transportation operations during peak periods and emergency situations.
  • Maintain flexibility to respond to transportation needs outside traditional business hours.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain transportation SOPs, training materials, route guides, and operational documentation.
  • Maintain schedules, records, and transportation-related reporting.
  • Communicate operational updates to drivers, managers, and leadership.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to improve transportation effectiveness and employee experience.

Qualifications
Required
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in fast-paced and changing environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred
  • Transportation, logistics, fleet management, hospitality operations, or related experience.
  • Experience managing transportation schedules, routes, or fleet operations.
  • Experience hiring, training, and supervising employees.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance coordination and transportation safety practices.
