What you'll do
  • Supervise employees to meet daily shipping/receiving schedules in high volume capacity traffic on multiple shifts. Focus on order accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency. Creating standard work for the warehouse/shipping team.
  • Estimate product, equipment (truck/trailers) and staffing required to meet departmental schedules and customer demand.
  • Coordinate freight cost savings by combining orders, redirecting orders, or consolidating orders for multiple drops and still meet customer expectations.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives through 5S and Kaizen activities. Manage warehouse in efficient manner as to gain the maximum storage and flexibility.
  • Inspect, train, and monitor employee's compliance with company's safety OSHA , DOT regulations, quality, performance policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate/Prioritize production effort with the Warehouse truck loading plan.
  • Verify employees' production reporting accuracy, procedural compliance, time and attendance.
  • Will ensure that conflicts are handled and resolved as they occur so that every staff member has a productive and healthy work environment.
  • Will hold regular 1:1's and periodic performance reviews to set goals and develop the team to meet company goals as well as personal development targets.
  • Manage system interface/accuracy with shipping and receiving documentation and system accuracy.
  • Communicates any warehouse or logistic disruptions that impact delivery schedules, loading schedules or customer commitments to relevant department heads.
  • Manage customer portals for consignment inventory and stocking positions.
  • Conducts safety audits in compliance with company's programs.
  • Negotiate freight programs with carriers utilizing corporate program managers up to $5 million dollar spend including LTL and Truckload freight.
  • Develop and implement procedures to train employees in the safe and efficient method of all activities in areas of responsibility.
  • Lead cost saving initiatives and justify Capital expenditures
  • Develop Process and Procedure to control quality and minimize profit leakage
  • Be able to perform all duties and activities of the workers supervised.
