Job description

Job Title: Traffic & Logistics Manager

Location: Houston, TX with site visits

Duration: 3-6 Month Contract (Potential Extension up to 9 Months)


Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Traffic & Logistics Manager to provide Owner-side oversight of EPC Contractor logistics execution on a major LNG development project. This role will monitor transportation planning, logistics execution, customs compliance, equipment delivery strategies, and supply chain risk management to ensure alignment with project objectives, schedule requirements, and contractual obligations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review EPC Contractor logistics and transportation plans, including routing, marine transport, heavy haul transportation, and delivery strategies.
  • Monitor logistics execution to ensure alignment with project schedules and construction sequencing.
  • Evaluate logistics readiness and identify transportation constraints that could impact critical equipment deliveries.
  • Serve as the primary Owner interface for logistics-related matters with the EPC Contractor.
  • Coordinate with marine, site, and project teams to support transportation and delivery readiness.
  • Assess logistics impacts on project milestones and critical path activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with transportation, customs clearance, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical developments.
  • Review procurement logistics assumptions, including Incoterms and delivery terms.
  • Monitor customs, import/export, and trade compliance activities.
  • Support FTZ-related logistics coordination and compliance efforts.
  • Review shipment tracking, logistics reporting, and contractor performance metrics.
  • Identify execution gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support audits, logistics studies, constructability reviews, and logistics assurance activities.


Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of project logistics, transportation, or traffic management experience.
  • Experience supporting major LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, infrastructure, or industrial capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy haul transportation, marine logistics, trucking, and multimodal transportation systems.
  • Experience with international shipping, customs clearance, and import/export compliance.
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms and project delivery structures.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers.
  • Experience performing logistics planning, route studies, and transportation risk assessments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous EPC contractor experience
  • LNG project experience.
  • Experience supporting Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
  • Trade compliance and customs advisory exposure.


Schedule

  • Office-based in Houston, TX.
  • Periodic project site visits as required.


Contract Duration

  • Initial 3-6 month assignment.
  • Potential extension up to 9 months based on project needs.
