The Opportunity

In this role, you will take ownership of transport and logistics activities supporting large-scale power grid projects within Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business. You will manage the end-to-end process-from defining requirements and setting transport budgets during tendering to executing complex global shipments during project delivery. Your work will focus heavily on heavy-lift transportation, including handling equipment weighing hundreds of tons, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery across international routes.

You will collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customers to coordinate logistics activities and resolve challenges that arise in dynamic project environments. By ensuring that equipment arrives on time, with the correct documentation and within budget, you contribute directly to the reliability and performance of grid infrastructure projects. Your role will also support continuous improvement initiatives, helping enhance transport quality, reduce risks, and strengthen operational efficiency across global projects. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and project execution while shaping how critical energy infrastructure is delivered worldwide.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Manage transport, trade, and logistics activities across projects, ensuring alignment with targets for safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation, and sustainability
  • Develop and implement transport and logistics strategies, including end-to-end budgeting for tenders and execution phases
  • Oversee global transportation planning, including feasibility studies, sourcing, contracting, and supplier negotiations
  • Coordinate heavy-lift shipments, ensuring safe and efficient handling, lifting, and securing of large equipment
  • Evaluate transport routes and infrastructure, including road surveys, port capacities, storage solutions, and technical lifting plans
  • Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to address logistics challenges and maintain project timelines
  • Investigate transport quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and enhance performance
  • Ensure compliance with local and global regulations, shipping requirements, and project-specific logistics constraints
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Extensive, proven experience in heavy-lift transport and shipping, including hands-on responsibility for cargos exceeding 200 tons
  • Strong background in transformer sourcing or equivalent heavy items, transportation, and site operations
  • Experience delivering large-scale, complex projects, with end-to-end involvement from tendering through execution and final delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in complex and evolving environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in multicultural and global business settings; fluency in English required
  • Solid administrative, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work under pressure and maintain structured processes
More About Us

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience managing complex global logistics operations that directly support the delivery of large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

  • Opportunities to work on innovative technologies that shape the future of energy
  • A collaborative environment with experienced professionals across the power industry
  • Access to learning platforms and career development programs
  • Attractive health and retirement benefits
  • Paid leave and flexible work arrangements
