Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Production Control Specialist

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Salary: $60-75K

Job Summary of the Manufacturing Production Control Specialist: In this role you will be responsible for assisting, coordinating and following up on all production control processes to facilitate manufacturing operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Production Control Specialist:

· Review and determine the production process necessary to produce metal parts.

· Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, labor estimates for revisions to current operations and/or new parts.

· Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Purchasing to assess Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and document to completion.

· Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and/or cost-effectiveness.

· Identify opportunities on new and existing products and implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, and/or materials.

· Perform general administrative duties as needed to meet administrative support needs.

· Make and update process documentation to facilitate manufacturing.

· Write and implement work instructions for complex processes / parts.

· Update standard routings and manufacturing best practices for overall accuracy.

· Maintain and improve work flows such as ECOs and shop paperwork.

· Collaborate with engineering to create/update better manufacturability of manufactured parts to improve safety, quality, production and cost.

Education & Experience Requirements of the Manufacturing Production Control Specialist:

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred or relevant experience

· 5 years experience in manufacturing including metal fabrication, machining, weld and assembly required is required.

· Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process equipment involving multi-process metalworking, machining and fabrication operations.

· Proficiency in reading blueprints.

· Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T dimensioning.

· Project Management experience a plus.

· Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma experience.

· Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience working in a team environment

· Must be proficient with computers and have experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word, (Solid Works and Creo preferred)

· Must be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities

· Knowledge and use of manufacturing software is a Plus.

· Must be able to manage time effectively while organizing and managing multiple priorities
