Position Summary
A client of ours is seeking a Training Specialist III to support institutional training programs at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC). In this role, you will provide specialized knowledge and skills in the administrative implementation of various training activities in an operational setting, including records management and other activities within a learning management system. This position supports government programs but is a contractor role and does not involve performing governmental decision-making functions.
Position Overview
The Training Specialist III will apply specialized analysis and interpretation of program requirements to plan, coordinate, and execute NASA and KSC-sponsored developmental programs. This individual will serve as a system administrator for training software, manage training records and databases, support curriculum development, and assist with the execution of career development programs and events.
Key Responsibilities
  • Apply specialized analysis and interpretation of program requirements to plan, coordinate, and execute NASA and KSC-sponsored developmental programs.
  • Provide specialized knowledge of database development and maintenance with emphasis on data input, query, and report generation capabilities used in established registration processes and procedures.
  • Serve as a system administrator for training software programs and learning management systems.
  • Perform all aspects of training execution for key career development programs and events, including:
  • Establishing curriculum.
  • Performing logistical support, such as preparing purchase requests, researching vendor capabilities, administering calls for nominations and course evaluations, maintaining calendars and websites, and performing records retention.
  • Preparing reports.
  • Performing Facility Manager functions for training facilities.
  • Apply specialized knowledge of agency program goals and objectives to effectively execute the sequence of key program events and milestones.
  • Provide specialized planning, organizing, and teamwork to make recommendations on project implementation with management.
  • Provide specialized analysis techniques to evaluate program accomplishments.
  • Independently work moderate issues and provide recommended resolution and disposition.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly desired.
  • Three (3) years of experience with at least one (1) year in Human Resources Development (HRD).
  • Equivalent professional experience as defined by the Performance Work Statement.
  • Experience with database development, data input, query, and report generation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and documentation/training management tools.
  • Successfully pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal or NASA programs, particularly in training or workforce development is strongly desired.
  • Experience with curriculum development, event coordination, training logistics, and records retention.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, training software administration, and structured reporting processes.

Work Environment
  • Professional training and operational environment at Kennedy Space Center.
  • Schedules may include day, night, weekend, or holiday sessions based on mission needs.
  • In-person work location.
