Position Summary:
The Service Business Development Manager is responsible for marketing, promoting, and selling roofing services/products to new and existing customers. This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners, and photocopiers. The Service Outside Sales Representative requires a large amount of travel within the local DC Metro market.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Stay current on existing and emerging products and technologies and maintain a working knowledge of all roofing types and applications.
  • Reports competitive conditions and feedback from customers to management.
  • Attends product training classes to develop superior product knowledge to handle customer applications.
  • Makes sales calls at customer sites on a regular basis.
  • Seeks out prospective customers/business opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Establishes and maintains customer relationships to grow profitable sales.
  • Responsible for following up on all sales leads for the service department, including, but not limited to, re-roof, renovations, repairs, and preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Develop and maintain a sales forecast to help analyze market conditions and/or changes in the assigned territory for maximum productivity and sales growth.
  • Implement a sales plan to support sales and profitability goals. Attend meetings, conferences, and/or seminars as directed.
  • Able to both perform a roof inspection and identify deficiencies, as well as compile a report that may have been generated by others.
  • Develops an effective and productive working relationship with support personnel; encourages and assists in their training and development when possible.
  • Maintains a professional/working image in self and work environment, including vehicle.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • At least two to three years of relevant sales and/or industry experience; or equivalent combined education and on the job experience. Roofing knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and self-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both internal and external
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to visit and move around at construction and other work sites, including the ability to maneuver in tight or small places.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 25 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh more than 25 lbs.
