This position will be for the 2026/2027 School Year and will start on June 15, 2026.

Position Title: Multilingual Learning Coordinator Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 Reports To: Chief Academic Officer Status:

Exempt, Full-Time

40+ hours a week

Contract Type:

11 month contract

One (1) week off in June 

One (1) week off in August.

Two (2) weeks off in December

One (1) week off for Spring Break.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Multilingual Learning (ML) Coordinator is a key member of the academic leadership team and a steward of academic excellence at HOPE. This role is responsible for ensuring that the school's EL/ML program vision is not only clearly defined, but fully realized in every classroom for every scholar, every day. This includes driving the coherence, rigor, and impact of multilingual programming by supporting high-quality instruction, monitoring implementation, and building the capacity of teachers. The Coordinator ensures that systems, structures, and instructional practices are aligned to meet the needs of multilingual learners and accelerate their academic achievement. The ML partners across the school including classroom teachers, specialists, and leaders to strategize individual plans to support overall academic growth.

Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer, the ML Coordinator leads the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the ML program. The role includes organizing program structures, supporting and coaching ML teachers, and ensuring strong alignment between curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student outcomes.

In partnership with the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC), the ML Coordinator is also responsible for managing the administration of WIDA ACCESS testing. This includes ensuring compliance, coordinating logistics, training staff and proctors, maintaining testing integrity, and using assessment results to inform instructional decisions and program improvements. The ML Coordinator will be responsible for all local and state reporting regarding ACCESS testing and general ML programs.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Instructional Leadership & Support. Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality push-in and co-teaching models for multilingual learners. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and administrators to co-plan lessons, align instructional strategies, and promote shared ownership of multilingual instruction. Model best practices in multilingual education and provide targeted coaching and feedback to ML teachers. Analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.

Professional Learning & Development. Design and deliver ongoing professional learning opportunities for ML and content teachers focused on co-teaching, differentiation, and culturally responsive practices. Build teacher capacity to effectively implement push-in models and scaffold instruction for multilingual learners. Facilitate collaborative learning communities and reflective practices among staff.

Compliance & Administrative Oversight. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal legislation related to multilingual learners and WIDA ACCESS testing. Ensure compliance with all reporting, documentation, and program requirements for ML/ELL students. Serve as the point person for program evaluation, audits, and coordination with district multilingual education departments.

Strategic Planning & Leadership. Collaborate with the district leadership team to translate the school's strategic plan into classroom practice for multilingual learners. Provide continuity and stability in the ML department, addressing turnover and ensuring consistent leadership. Advocate for resources, staffing, and policies that support high-quality multilingual instruction and equitable student outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelors degree is required. A Masters degree in education is highly desirable.
  • A license in ESL
  • At least five (5) years of experience working in a school setting, especially in a leadership and/or teacher role.
  • Demonstrated record of improving student achievement outcomes, particularly for diverse and multilingual learners.
  • Strong knowledge of Minnesota Academic Standards, WIDA assessment system, and MDE compliance requirements, push-in models, co-teaching practices, and strategies for supporting Hmong, Karen, and other multilingual learners.
  • Experience with EDUClimber, FASTBridge, or similar data platforms strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Hmong language programs, bilingual education, or multilingual learner programming preferred.
  • Exceptional instructional coaching, data analysis, and curriculum development skills.
  • Deep commitment to educational equity, cultural responsiveness, and HOPE's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and community-engagement skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with scholars, families, and staff of diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in a school environment; school building is a multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible. May involve movement throughout the building to support scholars in classrooms, common areas, hallways, and offices. Possible exposure to loud environments (e.g., hallways during passing periods, cafeteria, gymnasium). Some evening hours may be required for school events, family engagement activities, and cultural programs.
