Job description

Summary:
The Assistant Teacher, Bachelor's Degree Level, assists teachers with the instructional program through individual/small group tutoring and/or directing classroom activities within a computer lab. The Assistant Teacher, Bachelor's Degree Level, performs duties under the general supervision of an immediate supervisor, who evaluates performance through observation of work, periodic conferences, critiques, and/or records and reports.
DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS: All district employees must:

• Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.
Responsibilities:
• Administers pre- and post-tests for identified deficient standards/skills.
• Grades and files papers in student folders.
• Assigns appropriate worksheets and learning activities based on identified student needs.
• Tutors individual and small groups of students.
• Maintains records of student progress on assigned activities and worksheets.
• Replenishes and reproduces instructional materials and tests.
• Confers with teachers and assists teachers on student performance and instructional planning.
• Checks and maintains computer lab and equipment/supplies.
• Supervises student behavior with and without teacher assistance.
• Schedules students for computer lab and/or individual/small group instructional sessions.
• Participates in school activities and special events.
• Participates in conferences with parents of students.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
