Job Summary

The Field Adjuster Trainee will complete training  (4 weeks) via classroom followed by on-the-job training with experienced adjuster/mentors. Upon successful completion of the training you, will be assigned a service territory and become responsible for timely and effective field investigations of property insurance losses. Essential duties include documenting damages, preparing various written correspondences, recording activities in every claim file and estimating damage repairs using Xactimate.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Successfully complete Safepoint’s training program
  • Review case reserves on all assigned claim files to cover probable costs
  • Prepare written reports of investigation, coverage, and damages within the CMS
  • Negotiate and settle claims within authority
  • Investigate and pursue subrogation opportunities
  • Work with attorneys to defend the company’s claim position
  • Maintain accurate and complete files
  • Interview and correspond with policyholders, public adjusters, and attorneys
  • Responsible for all phases of property claims adjusting. Prepare diagrams, scope of damages and estimates utilizing Xactimate software
  • Other tasks and projects as may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Active 6-20, or 7-20 Adjuster's License required
  • Bachelor’s Degree. A combination of education and significant directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Customer service experience required
  • Home renovation or construction experience preferred
  • Working proficiency of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Keyboarding/typing skills of at least 35WPM required.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate preferred
  • Ability to work independently and provide outstanding customer service
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact on a professional level with internal and external personnel and partners
  • Results driven with strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
  • English and Spanish speaking/writing skills preferred

Essential Functions

  • Ability to travel/drive to locations within our service area
  • Climb ladders to access and walk on and around building rooftops
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Conduct field-based investigations by visiting policyholders’ homes to investigate property damage in assigned territory
  • Inspect all areas of the property, identify damages, properly document the risk and estimate the damages identified

Working Conditions

This job requires driving to different properties and entering such properties as well as performing work outdoors such as around the property inspections to include the rooftop. This role routinely uses ladders, computers, phones.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk or hear, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms as well as lift 50 lbs.
