JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the support, configuration, enhancement, and strategic development of Charleston International Airport’s Operational Digital Twin platforms. Responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting Microsoft technologies, Azure cloud services, Unity 3D environments, GIS data, AI/ML capabilities, and integrated data sources while ensuring seamless integration with other enterprise applications. This position reports to the Manager, Information Technology Operations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the primary functional and technical owner for digital twin applications, ensuring system stability, performance, and alignment with organizational requirements.
  • Conduct requirements gathering, workflow analysis, and solution design sessions with operational, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Configure and support 3D simulation environments developed in Unity and enhanced through GIS spatial data, real-time telemetry, and Azure-hosted services.
  • Manage integrations between digital twin platforms and enterprise applications including Microsoft systems, Azure Data Services, GIS mapping tools, IoT/RTLS systems, and operational platforms such as Amadeus.
  • Support and maintain databases required for simulation models, reporting, and analytical workflows; Leverage AI/ML tools, Azure AI services, and analytics platforms to improve simulation accuracy, forecasting, and capacity planning.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, incident management, and escalation activities, ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Lead and participate in project workstreams for new implementations, system enhancements, and global rollouts.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, workflow diagrams, and support procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training for users, super-users, and operational teams to encourage effective adoption of digital twin capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, data governance requirements, and applicable international regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and system optimization across the Charleston International Airport’s digital ecosystem.
  • Operates or uses various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments operates and maintains computer hardware and software, copiers, telephone, fax/copier, and related office/IT type equipment and supplies; operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review and modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years’ experience supporting enterprise applications in a technical, functional, or analytical capacity.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud services, including application configuration, monitoring, and security.
  • Experience working with integrations, APIs, ETL tools, or middleware platforms.
  • Experience with business process automation, API integrations, and system customizations.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of GIS technologies and spatial analytics.
  • Familiarity with Unity 3D environments, simulation tools, or 3D visualization platforms.
  • Exposure to common-use or similar operational/logistics systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Specific License or Certification Required:

  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
