Manager In Training (MIT)

As a global logistics service provider, Katoen Natie combines engineering, technology and port

operations to offer worldwide, tailor-made solutions to the chemical and automotive industries, as

well as the consumer goods, electronics and retail sector.

Katoen Natie has 181 logistic platforms and is active in 40 countries throughout Europe, North

America, South America and the Far East with a staff of more than 18 000 people.

In order to continue the growth of our group, Katoen Natie Specialty Chemicals Inc. (USA) is looking for a Management Trainee in La Porte, TX.

Responsibilities:

The chosen Management Trainee will have an intensive training period characterized by hands-on

assignments in various fields of activities (i.e. packaging, warehousing, logistics, and distribution)

where problem-solving and troubleshooting skills will be required. After a successful training

period, the trainee will be assigned a managerial position at a Katoen Natie facility in the US.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree required

· Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel

· Ability to create or complete brief, but relevant reports, statistics and graphs

· Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

· Persistent/dynamic personality

· Good people skills/team player

· Leads by example

· Strong analytical skills

· Willing to travel nationally and internationally and stay abroad for the training phase

· Available for US relocation

Requirements:

· Must be currently able to work legally in the United States

· Able to be mobile in the work environment and provide own method of transportation

· Must be able to read, write and speak the English language

· Ability to perform all basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· Ability to perform physical activities that require lifting, walking, and stooping. Lift and carry up to

50 lbs. Stand and perform work duties for an extended period of time.

· Ability to handle up to 85 decibels of noise while working in the Warehouses due to heavy

machinery and rolling equipment, all according to OSHA permissible exposure limit

· Close vision (clear vision at 20” or less), Color vision (Identify and distinguish colors), and

Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area while eyes are fixed on a given point.)

· Work other than normal scheduled hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

according to the needs of the business.
