Sportsbook Ticket Writers are to provide high-quality, best-in-class customer service while writing fast and accurate sports wagers for customers. It is key to follow all rules and regulations, policy and procedures, and to maintain a cash drawer with accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and maintain best-in-class customer service with a focus on customer acquisition and retention and through a positive, friendly manner

  • Assist customers with property related items, including but not limited to, seating, F&B assistance, and kiosk wagers

  • Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensure compliance related to applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations

  • Create and enter player tracking cards

  • Maintain and balance a till for use in issuing and redeeming tickets and vouchers for assigned shift, following all established cash-handling policies and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory controls of specific state gaming agencies

  • Stock sportsbook Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean and representative of the brand

  • Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to customers

  • Assist customers with all digital related app wagering items, including but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, registrations and customer service escalations

  • Ensure the protection of customer rewards and adherence to credit lines

  • Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity

  • Partner with Customer Service to solve customer issues as needed

  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

Essential Functions

  • Desire to gain knowledge of sports wagering systems, sports markets and odds

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift to 10 pounds without assistance, and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to create and maintain a customer service environment which focuses on attracting and retaining customers, creating positive experiences, and solidifying our brand

  • Must have the ability to adjust to and embrace change while working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment

  • Must have the ability to listen to and understand other people's needs through interpersonal skills focused on teamwork

Qualifications

  • Ability to gain and maintain a Gaming License through the proper regulatory body

  • At least 21 years old

  • Must be able to stand or sit, and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

  • Minimum six (6) months of cash-handling experience with basic math skills

  • Basic computer and reservation software skills

  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively

  • Strong ability to escalate potential complaints and business risks

  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a high-stress and high-volume environment with attention to detail

  • Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic and frequently changing environment

  • Ability to maintain professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to department and company brand standards

Compensation

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $21.10. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Applicants must possess legal authorization to work for our company in the U.S. without the need for immigration sponsorship. At this time, this role is not eligible for immigration-related employment authorization sponsorship including H-1B, O-1, E-3, TN, OPT, etc.
Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements
As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies. Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment. Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.
