Job description


Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Sports Betting Shift Supervisor, responsible for accepting and assisting guest with placing wagers on sporting events while providing excellent guest service to players.
This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Writes, verifies, and makes payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensures compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations
• Maintains a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary
• Monitors and maintains Sports Betting Kiosks
• Stocks Sports Betting work stations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean
• Writes sports tickets in an accurate and timely manner
• Makes payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner
• Verifies tickets and payoffs
• Maintains and reconciles bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and procedures
• Explains wagering rules, including betting lines, odds, and bet types to guests as needed
• Ensures compliance with Currency Transaction Requirements (CTR), Title 31, Anti Money Laundering (AML), and Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) for Casinos' requirements
• Provides information and assistance to customers in a friendly, courteous manner to ensure the delivery of guest service
• Verifies LED boards are correct; provides and verifies accuracy of guest informational sheets
• Notifies management of escalated or prevalent guest issues, concerns, and any apparent suspicious activity
• Practices outstanding guest service, to both internal and external guests, by promoting teamwork and creating a fun, friendly and inviting atmosphere that encourages mutual respect
• Ensures compliance with department, casino, gaming regulatory policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Proactive in anticipating guests needs striving to provide memorable service experiences
• Arrives on property to work in complete uniform, displaying a well-groomed appearance and clean hygiene
• Presents a polished and professional image at all times
• Routinely strives to build and achieve guest satisfaction
• Maintains confidentiality regarding customer play
• Communicates effectively with all co-workers and guest
• Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school Diploma required with one (1) year high-volume cash handling experience required. Ticket writer/cashier experience preferred. Experience in sports or online gaming highly desired. Must be 18 years of age or older. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license and to include the following:

• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to apply basic mathematical skills to player and money tracking
• Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to apply exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with team members and guests
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form
• Ability to obtain and maintain gaming license
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to walk. The team member occasionally is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend work will be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
