Jobs at 'The Local' typically refer to positions at The Local, a European digital news publisher reporting on news and events across various European countries in English. Roles can include journalism, editing, social media management, sales, marketing, and technical support. What are some common challenges faced by reporters at The Local when covering news for an international audience?

Reporters at The Local often face the challenge of making local news relevant and accessible to an international readership, which requires clear explanations of cultural or political context that might not be familiar to everyone. They must also balance timely reporting with thorough fact-checking, often working under tight deadlines. Collaborating with editors and other journalists across different countries is common, which can add complexity to coordinating coverage and maintaining editorial consistency. Adapting writing style and content to suit a diverse, non-native audience is an essential part of the role.
