Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester


Purpose: Working as a valuable part of the Marketing and Communications team, the Videography Co-op will contribute to the Mounts efforts to attract, engage, and retain constituents. Led by a former Brand President from Procter & Gamble, the Marketing team is constantly learning, growing, and innovating, and wants to hire a student looking to do the same.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Co-op will assist the University Videographer with capturing b-roll of campus events and interviews. This will include transporting and setting up gear, operating a camera, and interacting with people in the field.
  • The Co-op will be an ambassador for the new Peak Productions student group and have responsibilities related to livestreaming campus events (i.e. Concerts, Plays, Athletic Events, etc) under the supervision of the University Videographer.
  • The Co-op will have responsibilities related to taking inventory of video equipment, as well as organizing it and storing it.
  • The Co-op will play a role in cataloging video assets and deploying them through different channels to ensure maximum visibility.
  • The Co-op will assist with some post-production (editing) work to help turn raw footage into audience-ready video.
  • The position will be split between in-field and in-office work with fluid hours. In cases where important campus events are happening during nights and weekends, the co-op may need to be available.
  • This position requires regular consultation with members of the University Communications team and frequent work with other members of the campus community and third party vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
  • Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines.
  • Well organized, punctual, and reliable.
  • The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University.
  • Should have competency in producing video content.
  • Experience using post-production is a plus not a must, but the co-op will be required to learn such software.
  • This position requires long periods of standing, walking, and the candidate must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must have strong written and interpersonal communication skills, and a strong sense of storytelling
  • Should have an enthusiasm for brainstorming content ideas and scouting industry competitors to come up with new ideas.
  • Should have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
