Job description

POSITION: Mechanic

OVERVIEW: Ensure the safe operation and continued availability of company vehicles; including servicing, painting, inspecting and maintaining all company vehicles. This position reports directly to the Fleet and Service Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines and electrical systems

  • Performs routine duties in the preventative maintenance, repair and servicing of fleet vehicles and equipment

  • Performs vehicle and equipment inspections, problem diagnosis, makes repairs and follows fleet documentation guidelines

  • Handles all service calls as quickly as possible

  • Assists any vehicle which is not operative or that is in need of repair, at any time

  • Checks all batteries, fluids, motor oil, water, coolant, tires, brakes, etc., lubricates all automotive parts for all vehicles and other company equipment as necessary

  • Performs documentation of repair orders, preventative maintenance schedules, inventory control and other as required

  • Ensures that all registration and insurance information is current and present in all vehicles

  • Operates department vehicles and equipment as necessary, including specialized vehicles and equipment as required

  • Capable of using all tools necessary for specific job responsibilities

  • Responsible for the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the service facility

  • Adherence to safety rules and company policies

  • Completes all duties assigned

  • Performs other duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical ability to complete all job tasks-must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds with continuous lifting up to 162 pounds
  • Complete all required training for position including safety and OSHA training
  • Read/review Suncoast Beverage Sales' Policy Manual and safety manual
  • Self-motivated, flexible, adaptable, ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends an holidays as the company dictates
  • Ability to meet medical and driver certification requirements as established by the DOT
  • Able to maintain insurability as required by Suncoast Beverage Sales
