Sales Executive – Potomac Testing

Location: Jeffersonville, OH

About Us:
Potomac Testing, a TechPro Power Group Company, is seeking a Sales Executive to strategically grow and manage business relationships in the electrical services industry. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional who is passionate about the ever-evolving electrical industry and has experience in sales of electrical services, particularly within the realms of Acceptance Testing, Utilities, Large Data Centers, and collaboration with Major Electrical Contractors. Experience with Preventative Maintenance Service Programs, Switchgear, and Utility applications is highly preferred.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with established customers to uncover new business opportunities and expand existing accounts.
  • Identify and target potential new customers across various markets, including Construction, Commercial, Data Centers, Energy Services Companies, and Industrial sectors, to drive market share growth.
  • Promote and implement new growth initiatives for Potomac Testing.
  • Close sales efficiently, aligning with sales goals and the budgetary needs of your customers.
  • Provide the team with valuable market feedback, including competitor pricing, products, and programs.
  • Travel throughout the sales territory as needed to engage with customers and prospects.
  • Manage and strengthen customer relationships, ensuring long-term satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company CRM, including prospective close dates, won/lost information, and potential sales figures.
  • Report regularly on progress and market insights to the Management team.
  • Assist in collecting payments if necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of service solutions.

Required Skills, Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred. (Relevant experience in technical sales or the electrical services industry may be considered in lieu of a formal degree).
  • 4-7+ years of relevant experience in a technical sales role within the electrical services industry.
  • Strong background in electrical services, with a preference for NETA or similar industry experience.
  • Solid understanding of NETA Electrical Testing and Maintenance.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals as set by the company for the region.
  • Experience in reading electrical drawings and project specifications is preferred.
  • Competence in preparing quotes and responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Self-motivated with a successful track record in sales and a strong knowledge of Electrical Equipment.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work closely with the operations team, maintaining high levels of communication.
  • Physically capable of site walking industrial facilities while wearing necessary PPE, including fire retardant clothing, hard hat, eye and ear protection, and safety shoes/boots.
  • Strong human relations skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and resolve business issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and manage financial aspects of customer deals.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.

Job Location:
This position can be based anywhere within our northern territory, which includes offices in Troy, Michigan; Jeffersonville, Ohio; Carmel, Indiana; or South Bend, Indiana.
