Job description

Quick2Hire is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant (MA) for an outpatient Oncology/Cancer Center in Santa Monica, CA.

  • Contract: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day, 5x8-hour shifts
  • Hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Experience: 1 year required
  • Charting: Epic
  • Setting: Adult Outpatient Clinic / Cancer & Breast Center
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • On-Call: No
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Local Candidates: Accepted


Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs
  • Record patient history, medications, and allergies
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures
  • Administer injections and immunizations
  • Perform venipuncture and collect specimens
  • Perform blood glucose testing
  • Assist with suture removal
  • Handle patient follow-up calls and pharmacy/refill requests
  • Provide telephone triage as needed
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Float between the Cancer Center and Breast Center as needed


Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current CMA certification from one of the following:
    • AAMA
    • AMT
    • AMCA
    • NCCT
    • NHA
  • Outpatient clinical experience
  • Charting/EHR experience; Epic experience preferred
  • Comfortable performing venipuncture, injections, specimen collection, vital signs, and patient rooming
  • Ability to float between connected Oncology and Breast Center units


Work Environment

This is a clinical outpatient role within an Oncology/Cancer and Breast Center. The Medical Assistant will primarily support patient care and clinical activities. Front-desk and administrative duties are not required, although the MA may occasionally answer internal calls.
