Aerospace Systems & Components, Inc. (ASC) designs, develops, and manufactures various fluid control components, including butterfly valves, gate valves, solenoid valves, check valves, pressure and vacuum regulators, and other miscellaneous items. ASC was founded in Wichita more than 55 years ago and now provides product internationally to most of the major aviation manufacturers in the commercial and military markets. ASC has been steadily growing by offering new and innovative product to meet the demand of the latest aviation technologies.

ASC has an immediate opportunity for a Project Engineer to design and develop new products and support any applicable sustaining of current designs as required.

Job Title: Project Engineer
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Shift: Full Time – First Shift

Job Role


The Project Engineer is responsible for the design activities throughout the product development phase. This includes interpreting and understanding customer requirements, conceptualizing design solutions, modeling and drafting engineering drawings, generating design analysis/substantiation reports, and to build and support testing of new products.


Job Tasks


  • Design and development of new products
  • Stress and fatigue analysis of new or sustaining products.
  • Writing or checking of product development test plans.
  • Oversight of product development tests.
  • Development and oversight of product failure analysis evaluations.
  • Interaction with customers and suppliers as required.


Education/Skill Requirements


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and hands on ability.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and associated Microsoft Office software.
  • 2D/3D CAD experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter and self-directed in daily activities.

Additional Desired Skills

  • Autodesk Inventor experience
  • Aircraft pneumatic valve design experience
  • CFD software experience
  • FEA and Damage Tolerance software experience (AFGRrow or NASGRO) highly desired
  • Matlab/Simulink experience
  • TKSolver experience
