Job description

OverviewThis is a temporary role providing maternity leave coverage from June 22 to November 1, 2026. ย The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for selling and contracting catering business.ย  Responsible finding and selling and contracting new wedding and wedding related business. Maintains a professional working relationships with clients, Sunriver Resort staff and outside vendors/partners.ย  Manage and communicate the flow of client related information and sales and Resort staff.ย  Act as liaison between Resort staff and clients.ย 

They will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication and Commitment. He/She/They shall strive to deliver exceptional service to all internal and external guests at all times. In this role, they are responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture and actively supporting our Vision and Mission to be the destination of choice for our guests, owners, and associates.

Responsibilities
  • Quickly and professionally responds to all leads as assigned in market
  • Establishes strong rapport with clientele; maintaining strong communication prior to resort stay and during resort stay
  • Maintains close contact with clients to determine needs, expectations, etc.
  • Works closely with Conference/Catering Service managers as well as accounting to ensure billing and deposits are made timely according to contract.
  • Utilizes database to track inquiries, communication with clients and deadlines
  • Maintains up to date activity logs and documentation as required
  • Coordinates and conducts site tours for potential clients, including weekends
  • Explains and executes all contractual terms and to customers
  • Reviews guests' feedback through Revinate to ensure continual guest satisfaction
  • Welcomes incoming guests with courteous and professional attitude
  • Responsible for reaching budgeted monthly and quarterly goals as assigned
  • Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
  • Maintains a strong understanding of Sunriver Resort and Central Oregonย 
  • Capitalizes on up-selling to maximize night stays and maximizing rates
  • Focuses on yield management strategies
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the conventions/catering team
  • Handles walk-in inquiries.
  • Resolves guest problems and is empowered to act in absence of directors/supervisors
  • Makes decision on VIP status and communicates appropriately
  • Maintains strong communications with Conventions, Front Desk, Concierge and Bell service
  • Communicates effectively with resort staff to ensure communication of all services expected
  • Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Previous Catering Sales Manager experience preferred
  • Onsite position, not eligible for remote or work from home
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills (Delphi and Springer Miller preferred)
  • Ability to work well with others and function well in high customer impact situations.
  • Able to communicate well with staff and clients.
  • Ability to make important booking and financial decisions independently.
  • Able to work flexible hours and days, including weekends
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets insurance standards.
  • Knowledge of banquet products and standards.
  • Strong sales solicitation skills.
