Job description

Overview

Guest Service Specialists are responsible for selling and fulfilling all lift tickets and pass products for Big Sky Resort. They also act as an information source for all of our guests.

This opportunity entails operating a point of sale computer system in one of four different office locations around the mountain. You are THE point of contact for our guests and other departments for information on lift tickets, season passes, lift openings and closures, restaurants around the mountain, activities and special events on and off the mountain, as well as other services that Big Sky Resort provides on and off the mountain.

Excellent guest service, basic computer skills, flexibility in a workplace (that is greatly affected by the outdoor environment), the ability to learn quickly and work independently are all a must.

Prior resort and POS experience is a plus. Indoor approximately 90% of the time, outdoor approximately 10% of the time.


Responsibilities

Picture yourself being a Guest Service Specialist at Big Sky Resort and having the opportunity to:

  • Assist guests with their season passes, day tickets and multi-day lift tickets in a fast-paced office environment
  • Understand and learn the criteria for all the lift access products for Big Sky Resort (BSR Passes and Tickets, Mountain Collective, Ikon, Boyne Passes, etc.)
  • Be accountable for sales each day and able to balance all products sold against receipts
  • Meet, greet and assist guests as they arrive at the resort before, during, and after the ski day
  • Provide knowledgeable support on Big Sky Sports products, rentals, mountain terrain, area services, activities, restaurants, and events
  • Quickly assess lift ticket and pass issues and resolve them for the guest
  • Stay familiar with the daily snow and grooming report
  • Answer guest questions and resolve issues correctly, promptly, and professionally
  • Periodically assist with Basecamp activity booking or outdoor staff responsibilities
